New heating law allows continued use of gas and oil systems

focus.de (German)

The 65% renewable energy rule for new heating systems has been abolished. Gas and oil heating systems remain permitted, but a green gas quota will be introduced. A green gas quota will replace the 65% rule, requiring gas suppliers to gradually blend renewable gases into fossil natural gas. This change aims to allow homeowners to continue using existing gas and oil heating systems. State subsidies for climate-friendly heating systems remain unchanged, with up to 70% available. The government also plans to simplify municipal heat planning for smaller communities.
