New hand baggage rules limit air travelers to one 7kg bag starting next month

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) will enforce new hand baggage rules starting next month. Passengers can only carry one cabin bag or handbag weighing up to 7 kg for both domestic and international flights. The maximum size for cabin bags is set at 55 cm high, 40 cm long, and 20 cm wide. Any excess baggage will incur additional charges. Tickets purchased before May 2, 2024, will follow previous weight limits unless reissued. Major airlines, including IndiGo and Air India, have updated their policies to reflect these changes. Passengers should verify the new baggage requirements to avoid extra fees and ensure a smoother travel experience.
