‘New Girl’ Cast to Receive Rising Phoenix Award at Chrysalis Butterfly Ball

The cast of the sitcom "New Girl" will reunite at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball in Los Angeles on Oct. 10 to receive the Rising Phoenix Award, 15 years after the show's premiere. Zooey Deschanel, Max Greenfield, Jake Johnson, Lamorne Morris, Hannah Simone and Damon Wayans Jr. will attend the gala. The event supports Chrysalis, a Southern California nonprofit that helps individuals find meaningful employment. Greenfield will host the evening, while Jared Wolff, chairman and CEO of Banc of California, will receive the Corporate Trailblazer Award. Chrysalis President and CEO Mark Loranger said the honorees reflect the resilience central to the organization's work. The "New Girl" cast built seven seasons around characters navigating life changes, which Loranger noted aligns with Chrysalis's mission of second chances. The 2026 honorary co-chairs include Greenfield, Betsy Beers and others, with sponsors such as The Chuck Lorre Family Foundation, TruAmerica and US Bank.
