Construction of a new gendarmerie brigade in Saint-Sulpice-la-Pointe, Tarn, began with a cornerstone ceremony on August 28, 2026, replacing outdated facilities from 1971. The town's population has tripled in 40 years to nearly 10,000 residents, making the old buildings inadequate. The new facility will include modern reception areas for victims and compliant custody spaces. The €5.8 million project includes 16 new housing units and 42 parking spaces, with completion scheduled for late 2027. It resulted from a partnership between the prefecture, municipality, and other agencies.
