New book teaches Samoan values to children

A new children's book, incorporating Samoan fa'amatai and proverbs, has been launched to teach young readers about Samoan values. The book is written in both Samoan and English. Authored by Tauanu'u Perenise Tapu Sitagata, the book aims to instill values related to family, church, and community. The launch, supported by local organizations, featured vibrant illustrations depicting village life and traditional performances. The author hopes the book will help young Samoans in Aotearoa New Zealand connect with their heritage. The project is part of a broader effort to increase representation of Pasifika languages and cultures in local libraries.
