New book explores Borys Lyatoshynsky's "non-Soviet" Ukrainian music in Kyiv

A new book, "Times of Looking Glass: The Choice of Borys Lyatoshynsky," will be presented in Kyiv. The book explores the "non-Soviet" history of Ukrainian Soviet music in the 1920s-1930s, focusing on composer Borys Lyatoshynsky. Authors Iryna Tukhova and Olena Korchova examine his life and work through documents and eyewitness accounts. The presentation on May 10 will feature the authors discussing Lyatoshynsky's choices between freedom and survival, art and censorship, with a performance by the NotaBene Chamber Group.
