Neuralink implants brain-computer interface devices in third patient as technology advances
Elon Musk's Neuralink has implanted brain-computer interface devices in three patients, with plans to add 20 to 30 more this year. The technology allows users to play video games and create 3-D objects, showing promising results. Musk announced the third implant during a Las Vegas event, noting upgrades to the devices since the first implant a year ago. The second patient, who has a spinal cord injury, is already using the device for gaming and design tasks. Neuralink is part of a growing field, with over 45 trials for brain-computer interfaces underway. Other companies are also developing similar technologies, focusing on treating brain disorders and injuries.
