Netanyahu vows to defend Israel in Christmas message to Christians
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed Christians worldwide, acknowledging their support for Israel amid the ongoing war in Gaza. He emphasized Israel's commitment to defending itself against what he called "forces of evil." This Christmas marks the second consecutive year of a somber holiday for Christians in Israel and the Palestinian territories due to the conflict. The war, which began on October 7, 2023, has resulted in significant casualties, particularly among civilians. Approximately 185,000 Christians live in Israel, with a majority being Arab Christians. In the Palestinian territories, around 47,000 Christians reside, including in Gaza. The ongoing violence continues to affect these communities during the holiday season.
