Nei Lopes releases autobiography to process grief and celebrate life

Nei Lopes launched his autobiography, "O ‘robusto’ menino de Irajá," which helped him cope with his partner's death. The book details his childhood and career in music and literature. Lopes, who turns 84, credits his late partner, Sonia Brilhante, for his recovery and creative drive. Lopes has published over 50 books and written more than 400 songs, focusing on African languages and history without academic pretension.
