NDRRMC provides P43.3 million in aid to families affected by Mt. Kanlaon eruption

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that P43.33 million in aid has been provided to 8,004 families affected by the December 9 eruption of Mt. Kanlaon. The assistance includes food packs, hygiene kits, and tents. The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) has P240.5 million in standby funds and relief supplies available. They plan to present a contingency plan on December 23 to ensure the safety of education for affected students. Evacuation efforts have reached a 99.17 percent success rate, with 5,772 families relocated. The OCD is considering expanding the danger zone and has set up 29 evacuation centers, while allowing evacuees to check on their homes during designated hours.
