Jalandoni, in self-exile in the Netherlands, was a key figure in peace talks between the left and the Philippine government. He was also a former Catholic priest and a founding member of the Christians for National Liberation. Jalandoni's death follows those of other prominent CPP-NDFP leaders. He faced a warrant in the Philippines and was designated a terrorist by the anti-terror council in 2022.
