NBC secures $3 billion Olympic broadcasting deal through 2036

NBC has signed a $3 billion deal with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to broadcast the Olympics in the U.S. through 2036. This includes the 2034 Winter Games in Salt Lake City and the 2036 Summer Games. The agreement marks a shift, making NBC a strategic partner rather than just a media rights holder. It will involve collaboration on innovative projects and the use of the streaming platform Peacock. NBC has been the U.S. Olympic broadcaster since 1988 for Summer Games and since 2002 for Winter Games. The previous deal, valued at $7.75 billion, covered events through 2032.
