National Aviary seeks public help naming new skunk sisters

The National Aviary in Pittsburgh is asking the public to help name its two new striped skunk sisters, with submissions due online by noon on Sept. 14. The skunks, born in April at the Cincinnati Zoo, will be visible to guests starting Sept. 9. The nearly identical sisters have unique white head stripes, and name suggestions must be kid-friendly and free of copyright issues. Submissions are free, but voting in the second round requires a $5 minimum donation, with winners announced by early October. The skunks can be seen in the Forest Friends: Expert Talk, included with admission, or during a paid Skunk Painting Encounter. If a submitted name is chosen, the entrant may win a private painting encounter and meet-and-greet.
