NASA will launch a robotic arm to low Earth orbit in 2027

NASA plans to launch a commercial robotic manipulator into low Earth orbit in 2027. The mission, named Fly Foundational Robots (FFR), will test the robotic arm's capabilities in orbit, potentially aiding future Moon and Mars missions and spacecraft servicing. Developed by Motiv Space Systems, the arm can move between spacecraft parts and use tools, with potential terrestrial applications in construction, medicine, and transport.
