NASA extends International Space Station National Lab management contract through 2030

NASA has extended the contract for the Center for Advancement of Science in Space (CASIS) to manage the International Space Station National Laboratory through 2030. CASIS has managed the ISS National Lab since 2011, fostering research and development in low Earth orbit. The extension ensures continued collaboration on space-based research for the benefit of life on Earth and the development of a space market economy. The National Lab supports diverse research, including cancer studies and advanced manufacturing, with a significant portion of payloads coming from private firms. It has facilitated over 630 peer-reviewed studies and educational programs.
