NASA successfully transmitted and received laser-encoded data from 218 million miles away, demonstrating a breakthrough for deep space communication. This technology, part of the Deep Space Optical Communications project aboard the Psyche spacecraft, aims to enable faster, higher-quality data transfer for future lunar and Martian missions.
