NASA astronauts Menon and Meir spacewalk to install solar array mounts on ISS

NASA astronauts Anil Menon and Jessica Meir completed a six-hour spacewalk to install mounting hardware for future solar arrays on the ISS, boosting station power capabilities. The 6-hour, 27-minute spacewalk was the first for Menon and sixth for Meir. They installed hardware on the 3B power channel, enabling future roll-out solar arrays. Two more spacewalks are scheduled this month. Since 2021, astronauts have deployed six IROSA assemblies; two remain. Later spacewalks will replace a communications antenna and upgrade power channels for station deorbit preparations.
