Naples school bus driver arrested after rifle found on bus with students
A Naples school bus driver, David L. Ferry, 57, was arrested after a rifle was found on the bus he was driving with 12 students. The rifle was discovered under a seat, still in its original packaging and without ammunition. Ferry was stopped by police after purchasing the .22 caliber rifle. Authorities stated there is no evidence he intended to use it for school violence, and there are no threats to the school community. Ferry has been charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon on School Grounds and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. He is no longer employed by the Naples Central School District and will appear in court on February 18.
