Nantes prosecutor investigates 55 sexual abuse claims at Catholic schools

Nantes public prosecutor's office received 55 testimonies of sexual abuse in Catholic schools, leading to criminal investigations. The testimonies primarily concern incidents from the 1960s, with 31 specifically detailing abuse at the Saint-Stanislas school in Nantes. At least one alleged perpetrator is believed to be alive. These investigations follow an earlier appeal for information by the Nantes diocese, which had already gathered 87 reports, including 63 related to Saint-Stanislas.
