Naidu urges southern states to unite for $10 trillion economy by 2047

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said southern Indian states could collectively reach a $10 trillion economy by 2047, urging greater cooperation among them. He spoke at a Southern Zonal Council meeting chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Mahabalipuram. Naidu noted southern states contribute about 31% of India's GDP and are crucial to a developed India. He proposed a bullet train corridor linking Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, connecting Amaravati, Bengaluru, and Chennai, and urged resolution of pending Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act issues. He also suggested a common logistics network, dry ports, a joint consortium of universities, and a mutual aid force for disasters. Naidu proposed a Godavari-Cauvery river link to address Tamil Nadu's water issues and a spiritual tourism circuit connecting Tirupati with Varanasi, Ayodhya, and Char Dham.
