Nagpur police deleted objectionable posts, monitored social media
Nagpur police deleted 50 objectionable social media posts and monitored 2,000 accounts due to escalating India-Pakistan border tensions. The Cyber Cell, led by DCP Lohit Matani, targeted misinformation and inflammatory content. The police action aimed to prevent content inciting unrest or disrupting communal harmony. The surveillance, part of heightened security measures, focused on posts containing rumors and misleading information, particularly those originating from Pakistan. DCP Matani urged citizens to avoid sharing or supporting such content. Surveillance will continue despite the suspension of Operation Sindoor and related aggression, due to ongoing internal security concerns.
