Nagpur eliminates illegal garbage dumps for city cleanliness

Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) is surveying and planning to eliminate illegal garbage dumps to make the city garbage-free. This initiative aims to improve cleanliness. The NMC's solid waste management department is conducting a joint survey with various departments to map the locations of unauthorized dumping sites, also known as black spots. They will identify the causes and propose solutions. Zonal teams must submit detailed plans by May 14, with a review meeting scheduled for May 15. The effort is particularly focused on improving hygiene before the monsoon season.
