Nagapattinam and Cuddalore ports enhance services for importers and exporters
Nagapattinam and Cuddalore ports are being promoted as cost-effective options for importers and exporters. The Tamil Nadu Maritime Board has enhanced facilities at these ports, including customs and health services, to improve cargo operations. Efforts are underway to increase cargo movement to the Maldives and Sri Lanka. The ports could handle up to 75,000 tonnes of goods annually, focusing on agricultural and fisheries products. Passenger ferry services between Nagapattinam and Kankesanthurai, Sri Lanka, launched in August 2024, are reportedly successful. Interested parties can contact the Tamil Nadu Maritime Board for more information on cargo services.
