Nagano rain cancels 18 Azusa trains; landslide warnings through Sept 10

Heavy rain from a stalled autumn rain front caused 18 limited express Azusa trains to be canceled in Nagano Prefecture on September 7, disrupting travel. The front is expected to bring further downpours through around September 10, with warnings for landslides. JR Chuo Main Line suspended service between Fujimi Station and Takao Station until about 2 p.m., and the Koumi Line also halted operations until around 3 p.m. Forecasts predict up to 60 millimeters of rain in northern and central areas and 80 millimeters in southern areas over 24 hours.
