Musk PAC spends $800,000 on Republican races in Texas and other battleground states

Elon Musk has spent over $800,000 through his America PAC on more than a dozen Republican congressional races, funding direct-mail and campaign materials for candidates in close midterm contests, according to a filing released Wednesday. The PAC’s first 2026 spending targets key races in Texas and other battleground states, with the largest boost of $247,595 going to Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s Senate campaign. Other beneficiaries include Maine Senator Susan Collins, Ohio Senator Jon Husted, and Alaska Senator Dan Sullivan, all of whom sit on committees overseeing federal spending or military projects tied to Musk’s companies. The PAC, which holds a $50 million war chest and aims to raise up to $120 million, also spent over $90,000 opposing New Hampshire Democrat Chris Pappas. Democrats criticized the spending, with Pappas’ campaign accusing Musk of trying to buy the Senate seat for Republican John Sununu.
