Munich's Oktoberfest to Host First Queer Women's Event
Munich's Oktoberfest will host its first queer women's event, "Bier, Boobs, Brezn," on September 21, 2026, with around 700 women and FLINTA individuals expected at the Bräurosl tent, one day after the traditional Gay Sunday. Organizer Sina Scherer says the event addresses the lack of visibility for lesbian women at the festival, where established queer gatherings are dominated by gay men. She aims to create a self-made space for this community, building on her "Lost Girls" events. The Bräurosl hosts note the Gay Sunday, held for over 40 years, is 90 percent male and demand exceeds capacity, prompting the new "Rosa Montag" extension. Scherer sees the Wiesn as a fitting venue because it's not a typical queer space, allowing diverse groups to mix.
