Mumbai's wildlife photographer Sunjoy Monga died

Mumbai mourns the loss of Sunjoy Monga, a renowned wildlife photographer and author, who died Wednesday after a nine-year battle with blood cancer. He was 63. Monga, known as a "crack birder-naturalist," was celebrated for his work documenting Mumbai's avian life and advocating for environmental conservation through his writing and annual "Bird Race." He also wrote a regular column for HT. Monga's legacy includes inspiring a love of birds in countless Mumbai residents and establishing the "Young Rangers" program. He was also a member of the governing council of the Bombay Natural History Society.
