Mumbai's Santacruz Chembur Link Road extension set to open in January 2025
The Santacruz Chembur Link Road (SCLR) Extension in Mumbai is almost finished, with just 100 meters left to install. The project is set to open on January 1, 2025, after delays since construction began in 2016. The final installation involves a cable-stayed bridge and requires traffic blocks, pending police approval. The extension will improve connectivity between Kurla and the Western Express Highway at Vakola. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has completed a Rs 16 crore payment for land acquisition needed for the project. Originally expected to finish in 2019, the 4.2-kilometer extension faced delays due to various issues, including defense land requirements.
