Mumbai Indians add Santner and Ghazanfar to squad for IPL 2025
Mumbai Indians have added New Zealand spinner Mitchell Santner and Afghan bowler Allah Ghazanfar to their squad for the 2025 Indian Premier League season. Santner was acquired for ₹2 crore, while Ghazanfar was picked for ₹4.80 crore. Head coach Mahela Jayawardene noted the need for more varied spin options in the team. He mentioned that the IPL 2025 auction featured many unique spinners, prompting the team to adjust their strategy. Ghazanfar recently debuted for Afghanistan, taking six wickets in his first match. He attracted interest from other franchises but ultimately joined Mumbai Indians after a bidding contest.
