MTA honors Armando Crespo for his efforts in preparing subway stations for winter weather

Armando Crespo, Chief Infrastructure Officer for New York City Transit, is this week's MTA Hero. He has worked at the MTA for 23.5 years, starting as an electrical apprentice and advancing through various roles. Crespo's current responsibilities include preparing subway stations for winter weather and heavy rainfall. He oversees a team of about 1,000 employees, managing elevators, pump rooms, and track work. He enjoys tackling challenges, especially during emergencies, to ensure subway service is maintained or restored quickly for passengers.
