MSNBC faces viewer decline as NewsNation surpasses ratings in key demographic

MSNBC's ratings have dropped significantly since Donald Trump's election, with the network losing to NewsNation in the key 25-54 demographic. On Saturday, MSNBC averaged 17,000 viewers in this group, while NewsNation attracted 23,000. NewsNation's programming outperformed MSNBC in several time slots, including a noon broadcast that drew 34,000 viewers compared to MSNBC's 13,000. Despite this, MSNBC still led in total viewership, averaging 262,000 overall to NewsNation's 58,000. MSNBC's primetime viewership has fallen to less than half its year-to-date average, while CNN also reported a decline. In contrast, Fox News has seen an increase in ratings. NewsNation, while still small compared to major networks, has experienced growth in recent months.
