Mother charged with murder after son dies from severe beating in Washington

A Washington mother, Denaya Young, 29, has been charged with second-degree murder after her 14-year-old son died from over 1,100 injuries sustained during a three-hour beating. The incident occurred when she allegedly punished him for not doing his chores. Young reportedly used an HDMI cord to strike her son, who suffered blunt force trauma. She admitted to police that she "went too far" and continued hitting him despite his pleas for help. The boy's stepfather and three younger siblings were present during the incident. Young is currently held in King County Jail with a bond set at $3 million.
