Moscow Airports Halt Flights Second Night After Zelensky's Warnings

Moscow's Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports suspended flight operations for a second consecutive night following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's warnings about the dangers of Russian airspace for civilian aviation. Russian aviation authority Rosaviatsia imposed temporary restrictions on arrivals and departures at Moscow-region airports. Flightradar24 data showed 21 flights canceled and 235 delayed at Sheremetyevo, with 22 canceled and 94 delayed at Vnukovo. On September 1, Zelensky warned airlines and insurers that Russian airspace is becoming fully dangerous due to Moscow's war and Ukraine's drone responses. Ukraine informed ICAO of growing threats and called for a complete ban on civilian flights over Russia, while Rosaviatsia dismissed Ukrainian documents as legally invalid.
