More than 30 Russian universities adopt new higher education system changes outside pilot reform

Over 30 Russian universities are implementing new higher education system changes outside the official reform pilot. These institutions are adapting their curricula based on current legislation, according to Science and Higher Education Minister Valery Falkov. The reform, initiated after Russia left the Bologna Process in 2022, introduces basic and specialized higher education levels. The pilot project involves 17 universities and began in the 2023/24 academic year, extended until 2030.
