Montreal builds modular housing for homeless people

Montreal will convert the former Hippodrome into modular housing, providing temporary homes for up to 30 homeless individuals. The project will create 28 rooms, including two for couples, offering shared bathrooms, kitchens, and dining areas. This transitional housing aims to bridge the gap for those ready for apartments but lacking a place to live. This initiative, part of a larger pilot project, marks Montreal's first use of modular housing for the homeless, with similar projects planned at two other locations. The Hippodrome units are slated to open this summer.
