Monthly injection helps severe asthma patients reduce or stop steroid use

A monthly injection has enabled 90% of severe asthma patients to reduce daily steroid use, with over half stopping steroids entirely without symptom worsening. The study involved patients receiving tezepelumab, an antibody therapy reducing lung inflammation, for a year. It also improved asthma symptoms and lung function. This research offers a promising alternative to long-term steroid use, which carries significant health risks, and could transform severe asthma management.
