Monster X returns to face Godzilla in a new short film this fall

Godzilla villain Monster X will return in a new short film this fall. The character, last seen in Godzilla: Final Wars, will face Godzilla in "Fest Godzilla II: Shinjuku Burning." The short film is part of the annual Godzilla Fest event in Japan. This year's festival will feature the return of Monster X, a formidable foe created by the alien Xiliens. Filmmakers are crowdfunding for a new Burning Godzilla suit for the short. Godzilla Minus Zero, the sequel to Godzilla Minus One, is also slated for release later in 2026.
