Mom with terminal cancer focuses on making memories

Ashleigh Ellerton is a 29-year-old mother from Bridlington, England, who is battling terminal breast cancer. She has four children aged 5 to 11. Ellerton was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer in 2020 after a lump appeared, despite being initially told she was too young for the disease. After undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy, Ellerton was declared cancer-free for a short time. However, she believed the cancer would return. In 2022, after suffering from sepsis, doctors discovered that the cancer had spread to her liver. Last fall, Ellerton received devastating news: she had three months to live. She had to tell her children, and she recalls their screams and tears, especially from her youngest child. Her daughter even asked if Santa could take away her cancer. Ellerton is now focused on creating lasting memories with her children. With help from a GoFundMe set up by her mother, she is determined to show her kids that she fought as hard as she could. She hopes they will remember her presence and love.
