Mohali officials face warning over rising stray dog bite cases

In Mohali, the rise in stray dog bite cases has prompted additional deputy commissioner Sonam Chaudhry to warn local officials of potential disciplinary action if improvements are not made. She emphasized the need for an animal birth control program to manage stray dog populations. Chaudhry also directed the animal husbandry department to double the monthly anti-rabies vaccination camps for stray dogs. This decision was made during a review meeting focused on the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. Additionally, Chaudhry instructed the Lalru municipal council to expedite the construction of enclosures for sick and injured animals at the Lalru cattle pound. She highlighted the importance of completing these facilities to ensure animal comfort and proper care.
