Modern warfare increasingly uses decoys, from AI-enabled jets to inflatable ground systems, as a strategic asset to confuse enemy sensors and targeting. India reportedly used Israel's AI-enabled X-Guard decoy on its Rafale fighters, which may have been mistaken for real aircraft by Pakistan's air force, potentially causing them to waste missiles. Decoys, including towed systems, inflatable ground replicas, and self-propelled naval decoys, have become vital for protecting military assets across all domains with relatively low investment.
