Mobile's new airport opens virtually in Microsoft Flight Simulator

Microsoft Flight Simulator users can now virtually fly an Airbus A220 into Mobile's new international airport at Brookley Aeroplex, months before its real-world opening. The digital recreation includes the airport's under-construction terminal and Airbus assembly facilities. The A220 add-on, developed by Synaptic Simulations with iniBuilds, costs $64.99 and features realistic systems and cockpit details. Drzewiecki Design released the "KBFM – Mobile International Airport" scenery for $23.49, marking its first non-Boeing airport and capturing the site's current transitional state. The new terminal, planned to open in spring 2027, will replace Mobile Regional Airport for commercial passenger traffic. The virtual version includes detailed interiors and local landmarks, offering enthusiasts early access to a facility real passengers won't see for over a year.
