Janata Dal (Secular) MLA Sharanagowda Kandkur showed respect to political rival Baburao Chinchansur by escorting him at a Yadgir plant where a sulfur dioxide leak killed three workers. The August 5 visit with Medical Education Minister Sharan Prakash Patil followed the sulfur dioxide leak. Chinchansur, a former minister, lost to Kandkur's father in 2018 and to Kandkur in 2023. Kandkur held his rival's hand while guiding him through the site. Kandkur previously checked on Chinchansur after his 2023 campaign road accident. Despite supporter clashes over protocol, his act continues his late father's legacy of respect toward elders.
