Mizoram improves state hospitals with staff, equipment

Mizoram's government is upgrading healthcare infrastructure in state-run hospitals, including staff recruitment and equipment upgrades, as part of the Mizoram Universal Health Care Scheme. The state has hired 300 nurses, 100 multi-task workers, and technicians, with more health workers being recruited. Funding from NABARD is being used to develop primary health centers, and a cancer hospital is under construction. Since April, the MUHCS has disbursed over Rs 2.59 crore for patient treatments, though some private hospitals remain hesitant to join the scheme due to financial concerns.
