MIT to provide free undergraduate tuition for families earning under $200,000 starting in 2025

Starting in 2025, MIT will offer free undergraduate tuition to students from families earning less than $200,000 annually. This is an increase from the current threshold of $140,000. Families with incomes below $100,000 will also receive additional aid for housing and other expenses, up from the previous limit of $75,000. This change is part of a broader trend among local universities to expand financial aid. Other institutions, like Brandeis University and the University of Massachusetts Amherst, have also announced similar programs recently.
