Missing cat found alive in London after 14 years living semi-feral
A cat named Charlotte, missing for 14 years, has been found alive in Lambeth, south London, six miles from her home in Maida Vale. Her owner, Vivien Tarlton, had searched extensively for her since 2010. Charlotte, now 20, lived a "semi-feral" life but was cared for by a local resident. RSPCA inspectors discovered her health had declined, prompting the rescue. They identified her through a microchip and reunited her with Tarlton. Despite the joyful reunion, Charlotte's health was poor, and she was put to sleep after 16 days with Tarlton. The RSPCA emphasized the importance of microchipping pets, which became a legal requirement in June 2024.
