Minister opens book fair in Salem to promote reading
Tourism Minister R. Rajendran opened a book fair in Salem on Friday. The fair, organized by the state government, aims to promote reading among the public, especially students. It features nearly 200 stalls and runs until December 9. The fair is open daily from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and includes seminars and cultural events. Basic amenities like parking, drinking water, and toilets are available for visitors. Officials plan to encourage school and college attendance at the event. During the inauguration, the Minister also distributed free bicycles to 496 students at Sri Saradha Vidyalaya School. Local officials, including the District Collector and Mayor, attended the opening ceremony.
