Milan robbers steal heirloom necklace from 65-year-old tourist

ilgiorno.it (Italian) —

A 65-year-old Sicilian man, Luigi, was robbed by two men in Milan's Chiesa Rossa area on Friday afternoon, shortly after arriving for a vacation. The attackers stole a gold chain from his neck, and he was treated at a hospital with a three-day prognosis. The victim was attacked in via dei Missaglia after taking the M2 metro to Abbiategrasso station. One assailant grabbed him from behind, tearing his shirt and striking his face, while the other snatched the necklace, which Luigi said was a cherished family heirloom from his grandfather. The robbers fled toward via Boifava, and Luigi was aided by two passersby before filing a report with the Gratosoglio carabinieri. Investigators are likely reviewing surveillance camera footage from the area to trace the suspects.
