Michigan voters face voting limitations with Dominion terminals in upcoming election

In Michigan, voters can select a straight party option and still vote for individual candidates. If a voter chooses a straight ticket but also marks a specific candidate, the individual vote takes precedence. However, a programming issue with Dominion Voter Assist Terminals will prevent voters from casting split tickets in the upcoming November 5, 2024, General Election. Voters using these terminals can only vote straight or mixed tickets. The Michigan Bureau of Elections stated that the issue affects only those using Dominion equipment. Voters will need to either stick with their straight party choice or vote for each candidate individually.
