Michigan sees early signs of spring as temperatures rise
Most of Michigan has recently experienced a slight increase in average high temperatures, marking a shift from the coldest part of winter. This change typically occurs around January 26 or 27, when temperatures rise by one degree. As of now, the long-term average high temperature has increased by two degrees since late January. This change is attributed to longer daylight hours and a higher sun position. By the end of February, the average high is expected to rise another four degrees. The last days of February may bring temperatures between 35 and 38 degrees in southern Michigan, signaling a gradual transition toward spring.
