Miami receiver Malachi Toney returns after shoulder injury vs Clemson

sports.yahoo.com —

Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Malachi Toney briefly left Saturday's game against Clemson with a shoulder injury after diving for a pass in the third quarter. He returned to the field after three plays and made a catch for a first down. Toney, a sophomore, injured his left shoulder when he landed on his arm after catching a pass from quarterback Darian Mensah. He also experienced "upper-body discomfort" during a game on Sept. 18, and briefly left that contest as well. Toney leads Miami's offense in 2026 with 34 catches for 564 yards and six touchdowns. Other players injured in the Clemson game included guard Max Buchanan, tackle Matthew McCoy, and edge rusher Marquise Lightfoot.
